Beavers are the youngest members of the Scout family, aged from 6 – 8 years old. They take part in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, closely supervised by our leadership team. If you listen to the Beaver chant they are there to have FUN, make new FRIENDS and a RACKET, and they defiantly do that.

Beavers takes place early on a Tuesday evening at the Scout hut in Woodhall Lane. The Scout hut is in the grounds of Our Lady’s School. If you are unsure where that is have a look at our how to find section.

Activities at the hut are creative and stimulating; we aim to teach Beavers new things that they may not get the chance to do elsewhere. Outdoor activities may be a walk round Stanborough Lakes, a night away in the depths of Harmergreen Wood or Tolmers Scout Activity Centre, all within easy reach.

In line with Scout policy the section is open to any young person, boy or girl between the above ages.

During their time in Beavers, they have the opportunity to earn an assortment of Activity badges, 3 Challenge badges and 6 stage badges, all of which are appropriate to their age group. Some will be earned working as a group, others while on camp and a few they can do at home. The final achievement is earning their Chief Scouts Bronze Award.
